A Song for Robin

March, 2020

Set in 1950s America, A Song for Robin is historical fiction chapter book for readers between 8-12 years of age.

When ten-year old Robin sees the local hotel clerk refuse a room to two African Americans, she’s confused. It’s the first time she has witnessed an act of racism. Seeing a new side of the people she’s known all her life, Robin will try to make sense of their actions and ultimately her own.

A Song for Robin is inspired by the life of Ella Jenkins, the children’s folk musician and published by Tiger Stripe Publishing.
